This is my absolute FAVORITE oatmeal recipe! I have been making this exact recipe for a couple of years now and have not changed it at all! It is super easy to make, I prefer cooking it over the stove but the recipe totally works in a microwave as well which is what I use at college!
Ingredients:
- Quick oats
- Milk of choice
- Natural maple syrup
- Cinnamon
- Nut butter of choice
*I eyeball this recipe*
FOR STOVETOP: start by heating a pan on your stovetop on medium heat. Then add your desired amount of quick oats, along with your milk of choice (I either use almond or oat milk). The amount of milk you add depends on the amount of oats you cook. You will be able to tell how much milk is enough. Then add a LOT of cinnamon and a bit of maple syrup. Stir until oats are fully cooked. Then, pour the oatmeal into a bowl and top with more cinnamon, a drizzle of maple syrup, and a scoop of nut butter (I use Justin's brand peanut butter).
FOR MICROWAVE: add all the same ingredients to a microwave safe bowl and start by microwaving for 2 minutes. Remove bowl and stir, then microwave again for 1 minute. Remove and stir again, then finish by microwaving again for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Top with more cinnamon, maple syrup, and a scoop of nut butter. Enjoy!
